Softball Recap: Piute Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

It's playoff time, and Piute had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Panguitch Bobcats by a score of 8-3 on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Thunderbirds as they're now sitting on six straight.

Destri Morrill made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Morrill was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Riyo Winckel was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Piute's victory bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Panguitch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Piute is set to challenge their familiar foe Milford at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Panguitch will take on rival Pinnacle at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
