Football Recap: Brunswick Blue Devils vs. Strongsville Mustangs
Brunswick lost against Strongsville back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blue Devils took a 24-7 bruising from the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Mustangs are ranked 102nd).
Sean Barnett threw for 176 yards on 13 of 25 attempts. Gavin Moore was his top target, picking up 113 receiving yards.
Strongsville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Austin Tatulinski out in front who picked up 71 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 64 yards. This is the second loss in a row for Brunswick and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Strongsville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Brunswick will challenge Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will be up against the Polar Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
