Basketball Recap: Palm Grove Christian Takes a Loss

Palm Grove Christian was the 62-52 winner over Ruskin Christian when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Gators took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Gators' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Palm Grove Christian still got an impressive performance from Carter Baker, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. Landon Riehl was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Palm Grove Christian and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Ruskin Christian, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Coincidentally, Palm Grove Christian and Ruskin Christian will both be playing Central Baptist Christian the next time they take the court. The Warriors will host the Lions at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Gators will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
