Basketball Game Preview: Southeast Seminoles vs. Lakewood Spartans

Having just played yesterday, the Southeast Seminoles will head out on the road to face off against the Lakewood Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southeast is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Southeast will head into Thursday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 22) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lakewood Ranch, sneaking past 48-45. Given the Seminoles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Mustangs are ranked 586th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lakewood came up short against Berkeley Prep on Tuesday and fell 51-41. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Southeast pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Lakewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Southeast beat Lakewood 82-72 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Does Southeast have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lakewood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
