Softball Recap: Highland Has No Trouble Against Rocky Mountain

Highland was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Rocky Mountain on Friday. Highland put the hurt on Rocky Mountain with a sharp 14-5 win. While the Rams didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Emerson Gifford was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Reece Bybee was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-5.

Highland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rocky Mountain only posted a batting average of .269.

Highland's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Rocky Mountain, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Highland wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-13 defeat against Centennial on the 29th. As for Rocky Mountain, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-8 win against Thunder Ridge on the 29th.
