The Northside - Pinetown Panthers will square off against the Hobgood Charter Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hobgood Charter will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Northside - Pinetown extended their winning streak to ten two weeks ago. The Panthers really took it to Jones for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Trojans are ranked 412th).

Northside - Pinetown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sincere Columbus, who rushed for 41 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Columbus has been hot, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played. Marshal Rutledge was another key back, rushing for 70 yards and one TD.
Northside - Pinetown's run defense was locked in: Jones could only muster -1.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Brayden Foster for the heroic effort on defense: he. Northside - Pinetown didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 27.8.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Northside - Pinetown, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Anthony West, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Hobgood Charter rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Chargers, posting a 44-14 win. The Raiders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Hobgood Charter found their leader in freshman Armanti Alston, who rushed for 102 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries, and also threw for 57 yards and one touchdown. Alston also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Raiders are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-5 otherwise.
Hobgood Charter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brayden Blakley and Alston.
Hobgood Charter's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Northside - Pinetown, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Northside - Pinetown has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 264.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Hobgood Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 266.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
