Recap: Elk Grove Thundering Herd vs. Davis Sr. Blue Devils
The Elk Grove Thundering Herd suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 63-41 walloping at the hands of Davis Sr.. Elk Grove has struggled against Davis Sr. recently, as their match on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Elk Grove still got an impressive performance from MJ Bhatia, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bhatia has scored all season.
Davis Sr. can attribute much of their success to Jadyn Coaker, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aidan Crawford, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Elk Grove bumped their record down to 8-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Davis Sr., their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
Elk Grove will head out on the road to face off against Cosumnes Oaks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cosumnes Oaks knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Elk Grove likes a good challenge. As for Davis Sr., they will be playing at home against Sheldon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sheldon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Davis Sr. in California (Sheldon is ranked 104th, while Davis Sr. is ranked 476th).
