Baseball Game Preview: Pleasant Hope Pirates vs. Billings Wildcats

The Pleasant Hope Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Billings Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Pleasant Hope has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pleasant Hope can't be too worried about heading out to take on Billings: they just beat Dadeville at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Pirates came out on top against the Bearcats by a score of 18-15 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Billings entered their tilt with Greenwood on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Blue Jays with a sharp 7-1 victory.

Billings' win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Pleasant Hope, their win bumped their record up to 5-14.

Pleasant Hope might still be hurting after the 10-4 defeat they got from Billings in their previous meeting back in April of 2017. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
