Emma Roche was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leila Gonzalez, who posted 21 points and four steals.
Meanwhile, Franklin Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 32-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Johnston. Having soared to a lofty 63 points in the game before, the Patriots couldn't push the score so high this time.
East Wake Academy will have to contain Iliana Rodriguez as she made an impact in Franklin Academy's last game. She dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Rodriguez is becoming a predictor of Franklin Academy's success: when she posts at least eight boards the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Rayne Bookhart, who earned five points.
