Volleyball Recap: Calleigh Barry Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Clovis East

Marina picked up another tournament win on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Clovis East Timberwolves as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Marina's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Calleigh Barry, who had 51 assists and seven digs. Those seven digs gave Barry a new career-high. Abby Piramo was another key player, getting 17 digs and two aces.

Clovis East's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jayda Phasakda, who had 13 assists and six digs, and Anna Cheatham, who had nine digs and three assists.

Marina's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Clovis East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Marina wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Santa Monica on the 27th. As for Clovis East, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Rosary Academy on the 27th.
