Basketball Recap: Heartland Christian Comes Up Short at Home Against Western Plains

Heartland Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 45-28 to the Western Plains Bobcats. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Western Plains got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chloe Briand out in front who went 6 for 12 en route to 14 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Madelyn Kraus was another key player, putting up 15 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.

Western Plains' victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Heartland Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Western Plains, they will welcome Northern Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
