Baseball Recap: Franklin Road Christian Takes a Loss

Franklin Road Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Middle Tennessee Monarchs. That's two games in a row now that the Minutemen have lost by exactly two runs.

Benjamin Walker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mason Alcorn, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Franklin Road Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Middle Tennessee Monarchs, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-7.

Franklin Road Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Haven Christian at 6:00 p.m. on April 7. As for Middle Tennessee Monarchs, they will take on Carmel in a tournament on Thursday.
