Football Recap: Horn Lake Beats Madison Central for Their Third Straight Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Horn Lake walked away with it. They walked away with a 35-28 victory over the Madison Central Jaguars on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Lance McGowen was the offensive standout of the game as he picked up 97 receiving yards and one TD. That's the most receiving yards he has posted since back in November of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Horn Lake's defense and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Linkin Sanders and Matt Frazier, who racked up five sacks between them. Sanders has been hot, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last six times he's played. Dallen Clayton was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing two fumbles, and making three total tackles.

Although Madison Central took the loss, they still got scores from Myles Payne, Tylan Hutchins, and Mikel Stephen.

Horn Lake's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Madison Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Coming up, Horn Lake is taking a road trip to challenge Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Floyd Sinegal and Demar Jamerson. Madison Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
