Volleyball Recap: Rancho Cotate Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Rancho Cotate challenged Burlingame on Saturday. The Rancho Cotate Cougars fell 2-0 to the Burlingame Panthers.

Burlingame found their leader in freshman Zander Hakes, who had six aces and three digs. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Hakes.

Rancho Cotate now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Burlingame, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Rancho Cotate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Head-Royce on the 8th. As for Burlingame, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against St. Patrick-St. Vincent on the 8th.
