Basketball Game Preview: Wheaton Academy Warriors vs. Christ the King Gladiators

The Wheaton Academy Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Christ the King Gladiators at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Wheaton Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

Last Friday, Wheaton Academy got the win against Aurora Christian by a conclusive 65-39. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Eagles are ranked 366th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Christ the King came up short against Hillcrest on Sunday and fell 68-61.

Christ the King's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Wheaton Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

Wheaton Academy ended up a good deal behind Christ the King in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, losing 81-67. Thankfully for Wheaton Academy, Cyrus Allen (who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
