League recap: Thomas breaks off league-leading run for Davenport

Davenport's Kevin Thomas rumbled for the longest rushing play in B District 4 (8 Man) this season in his game against Cave Springs last week. Thomas ran for 64 yards on the play and finished with 163 on the day as his team bested Cave Springs.

Tyler Douthit and Manuel Arambula provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Wetumka. The connection was good for 66 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.

Davenport's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Matt Miller has thrown for 1284 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Thomas has 30 catches for 524 yards. Thomas leads the league in rushing with 979 yards.

The marquee game in B District 4 (8 Man) this week will be the clash between Keota and Dewar. The Lions comes into the matchup ranked 16th in the state, while the Dragons ranks 10th.

Davenport's Thomas needs only 21 yards against Strother next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.

The Chieftains extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Bowlegs, 92-46. The victory was the eighth in a row for Wetumka.
