Soccer Game Preview: Oscar Smith vs. Grassfield

Oscar Smith is 0-6 against Grassfield since April of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. Oscar Smith will be strutting in after a victory while Grassfield will be coming in after a loss.

Oscar Smith's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past King's Fork 4-0. Considering Oscar Smith have won five contests by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit King's Fork with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kendall Ferrell (2), Layla Shannon, and Cameron Connelly.

Meanwhile, Grassfield faced Western Branch in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Grizzlies fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 1-0. Grassfield were red-hot offensively heading into the game (they scored no less than four goals in the three matches prior), but Western Branch's defense proved too tough.

Grassfield moved to 8-4 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Oscar Smith, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
