Football Recap: Paraclete Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Paraclete couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oaks Christian Lions on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Spirits in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Paraclete lost, don't look at Joseph Mesa. Despite the final result, he rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 73 yards and one TD.

Deshonne Redeaux produced another solid performance rushing for 264 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 10.6 yards per carry for Oaks Christian. Redeaux is becoming a predictor of the Lions' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 4-2 (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

Paraclete's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Oaks Christian, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Paraclete does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oaks Christian, they will face off against La Habra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
