Recap: Brownell Talbot Raiders vs. Parkview Christian Patriots
If the Brownell Talbot Raiders were feeling good off their 51-27 takedown of the College View Academy Eagles last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Brownell Talbot took a 64-48 bruising from Parkview Christian on Saturday. Brownell Talbot has struggled against Parkview Christian recently, as their match on Saturday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Brownell Talbot still got an impressive performance from Simon Lim, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lim has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Mccafferty, who scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
It was another big night for Terance Pittman, who scored 34 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks for Parkview Christian. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Pittman has scored at least a third of Parkview Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Devon Merrill, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Brownell Talbot's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Parkview Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brownell Talbot's road trip will continue as they head out to face Heartland Christian on January 30th. As for Parkview Christian, they will square off against Lincoln Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Lutheran presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Parkview Christian in Nebraska (Lincoln Lutheran is ranked 32nd, while Parkview Christian is ranked 117th).
