Baseball Recap: Stewarts Creek Beats Smyrna for Their Third Straight Win

Stewarts Creek and Smyrna pushed the score to 11-8 the last time they played Smyrna, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Red Hawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 3-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for the Red Hawks, who have now won three games in a row.

Not much got past Chase Fernandez, who gave up just three hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Smyrna off the board. Fernandez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
