Baseball Recap: Calvary Christian Comes Up Short

Calvary Christian entered their contest against Villa Madonna on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cougars fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cougars have suffered since May 15, 2024.

Finn Zachary made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs. Leo Mcdaniel also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Villa Madonna, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-12-1.

Coming up, Calvary Christian will challenge Newport at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a 34-game losing streak. As for Villa Madonna, they will square off against Dayton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
