After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rocky Mount Academy, Halifax Academy was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Southampton Academy Raiders 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since September 17, 2024.

Halifax Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Southampton Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 25-23, 26-24, 22-25, 21-25, 15-11.

The win got Halifax Academy back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Halifax Academy will square off against Brunswick Academy at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Southampton Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greenbrier Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 26th.
