Softball Recap: Handley Judges vs. Rock Ridge Phoenix

Handley had lost 14 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-6 to make it 15. They came up short against the Rock Ridge Phoenix, falling 14-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Phoenix this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-3 back in March.

As for Rock Ridge, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-7. The result was nothing new for the Phoenix, who have now won five matches by 11 runs or more so far this season.

For Rock Ridge's part, Sahasra Abbineni made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Abbineni a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.
