Football Recap: Walsh Comes Up Short

Walsh dropped to 5-5 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 26-6 to Stratton. Having soared to a lofty 63 points in the game before, Walsh couldn't push the score so high this time.

Hudson Gourley threw for 142 yards and one TD. Grady Mundell was his top target, picking up 72 receiving yards and one score.

As for Stratton, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Considering they have won seven contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Leading Stratton to victory were Drew Fox and Von Isenbart. Fox rushed for 123 yards and one touchdown, while Isenbart threw for 106 yards and one TD. Fox has become a key player for Stratton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Walsh and Stratton are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Eagles will take on Caliche at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Walsh will need to watch out since the Buffaloes have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. As for Stratton, they will square off against Flagler at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 35.7 points per game this season.
