Preview: Chavez Lobos vs. Milby Buffs
The Chavez Lobos will head out on the road to face off against the Milby Buffs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Saturday, Chavez came up short against Incarnate Word Academy and fell 33-20.
Meanwhile, Milby had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Wisdom with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 47-28. The victory was just what Milby needed coming off of a 48-17 loss in their prior matchup.
Milby's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ke'lia Smith, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nayeli Medina, who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Their wins bumped Chavez to 1-8-1 and Incarnate Word Academy to 3-7.
