Basketball Recap: Peabody-Burns Takes a Loss

Peabody-Burns lost against Elyria Christian back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Peabody-Burns Warriors were beaten by Elyria Christian 79-35. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while Elyria Christian are ranked 40th).

Despite the loss, Peabody-Burns saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jameson Miles went 11 for 21 on his way to 23 points and six rebounds. Miles' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Aiden Hurst was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points.

Peabody-Burns' defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Elyria Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Peabody-Burns will take on Wakefield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Peabody-Burns is facing Wakefield at the right time seeing as Wakefield is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Elyria Christian, they will face off against Centre on Friday.
