Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chowchilla). They were the clear victors by a 21-4 margin over the Caruthers Blue Raiders on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tribe considering their two-run performance the match before.
Ava Diaz made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylee Vlot, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
