Softball Game Preview: Topsail Pirates vs. North Duplin Rebels

The Topsail Pirates will square off against the North Duplin Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Topsail beat West Brunswick 6-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Duplin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Hobbton on Wednesday. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 15 runs or more this season.

North Duplin's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Topsail, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.
