Baseball Game Preview: Salem Hills Skyhawks vs. Wasatch Wasps

For the second straight game, Salem Hills will face off against Wasatch. The Skyhawks will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Wasps at 3:30 p.m. Salem Hills has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

While Salem Hills' win against Wasatch wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Skyhawks had just enough and edged out the Wasps 15-14 on Monday. The Skyhawks haven't had any issues with the Wasps recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Mason Ward and Bracken Lindley did most of the damage at the plate: Ward got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI, while Lindley went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Lindley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Guss Johnson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Salem Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Salem Hills' win bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Wasatch, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.
