Basketball Recap: Northwood Gators vs. Converse Wildcats
After only 12 points in their last matchup, the Northwood Gators made sure to put some points up on the board against the Converse Wildcats on Friday. Northwood breezed by the Wildcats on the road to the tune of 69-41. For Northwood, this counts as revenge for the 39-37 loss the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Northwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jahari Mccoy out in front who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Mccoy has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ken'Tyreon Eddie, who scored 13 points along with five assists.
Northwood's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-14. As for Converse, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-34.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwood will take on the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Converse, they will be playing at home against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Zwolle will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
