Maranatha Christian extended their road winning streak to nine games thanks to a huge performance from Zachary Nguyen. The Eagles put the hurt on the La Jolla Country Day Torreys with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday for which the team can thank Nguyen, who had 16 digs and three assists. He has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 15 times he's played.

Maranatha Christian was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-16.

Maranatha Christian's win bumped their record up to 21-4. As for La Jolla Country Day, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maranatha Christian will venture away from home to challenge Point Loma at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Pointers at the right time seeing as the Pointers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for La Jolla Country Day, they will head out to take on Hilltop at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
