James Ramirez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Elkhart Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-16 otherwise. Ramirez was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Liam Elkins was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run. Another player making a difference was Josh Braun, who earned one run and three stolen bases.

He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. At bat, McCuen went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Whitworth went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Whitworth has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Owen Tanner, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Peterson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Culver Community's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-17.
Culver Community's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Elkhart Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. It's a different story for Culver Community, though, as they've only averaged .249. Will they be able to contain Elkhart Christian Academy's hitters?
