            Volleyball Recap: Avon Panthers vs. Sturgis East Storm        
        
		
        
        
            Avon proved they can win big  on Tuesday (they won by three) and  on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Sturgis East Storm  3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  3-2  back in September.
 Avon took Sturgis East into a fifth set  where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-17, 19-25, 21-25,  15-13.
 Valerie Salawu paced Avon's offense, picking up 11 kills. Salawu got some help from  Kieu-Vy Tran and her 15 assists. Finally,  Ellen Le and  Marielle Muyamina kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked five attacks.

The  win (which was Avon's third in a row) raised their record to 14-4. As for Sturgis East, their loss  ended  a  three-match streak of away wins  and  brought them to 10-5.
 Coming up, Avon will square off against Seekonk at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Sturgis East, they will take on Cape Cod RVT at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
