Basketball Game Preview: Dorchester Longhorns vs. Nebraska Lutheran Knights

Dorchester is 0-10 against Nebraska Lutheran since January of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Dorchester Longhorns will head out to square off against the Nebraska Lutheran Knights at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Dorchester is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against College View Academy, falling 56-32. The Longhorns were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-8.

Meanwhile, Nebraska Lutheran played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Cross County 66-39. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Cougars are ranked 44th).

Dorchester will need focus on slowing down Lukas Worster, one of several Nebraska Lutheran players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 15 points. Worster is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bob Papik, who put up 11 points and six boards.

Dorchester's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Nebraska Lutheran, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Dorchester took a serious blow against Nebraska Lutheran in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 68-32. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Dorchester was down 32-9.
