Basketball Game Preview: Avery County Vikings vs. Andrews Wildcats

The Avery County Vikings will square off against the Andrews Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Avery County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, Avery County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 64-59 to Mountain Heritage.

Despite the defeat, Avery County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caroline Hollifield went 7-for-14 on her way to 27 points and seven boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hollifield has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Jones, who went 5-for-12 en route to 16 points.

Meanwhile, Andrews came up short against Hayesville on Tuesday and fell 51-41.

Avery County's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Andrews, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-11.
