Basketball Recap: Roanoke Rapids Extends Winning Streak to Three

Roanoke Rapids entered their tilt with American Leadership Academy-Johnston on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the Patriots with points to spare, taking the game 48-34. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Yellowjackets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Patriots are ranked 508th).

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eli Hansen, who posted four points. Brian Ross was another key player, putting up nine points.

Roanoke Rapids' victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coincidentally, Roanoke Rapids and American Leadership Academy-Johnston will both be playing Nash Central the next time they take the court. The Patriots will head out to face the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Yellowjackets will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on the 6th.
