Softball Game Preview: Lugoff-Elgin Demons vs. Ridge View Blazers

Lugoff-Elgin is a perfect 5-0 against Ridge View since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Lugoff-Elgin will head out to square off against Ridge View at 6:00 p.m. Ridge View took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lugoff-Elgin, who comes in off a win.

Lugoff-Elgin is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They had just enough and edged out A.C. Flora 14-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Demons have posted since March 12th.

Lugoff-Elgin got a massive performance out of Kayley Lynch, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Lynch a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Haley Starcher, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Meanwhile, Ridge View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Spring Valley, falling 22-4.

Ridge View saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Helena Wright, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Lugoff-Elgin's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11. As for Ridge View, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything went Lugoff-Elgin's way against Ridge View in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Lugoff-Elgin made off with a 15-0 win. Will Lugoff-Elgin repeat their success, or does Ridge View has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
