Softball Recap: Hale Center Beats Ralls for Their Sixth Straight Win

Hale Center entered their tilt with Ralls on Friday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Jackrabbits. The result was nothing new for the Owls, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Miella Anguiano made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Borunda, who fired off three triples, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Kendra Aguirre also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Hale Center always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ralls only posted an OBP of .375.

Hale Center's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Ralls, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12-1.
