Baseball Recap: Austin Comes Up Short

Austin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Del Valle Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Tuesday.

Austin's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Del Valle, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7-1.

Austin and Del Valle could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Austin will face off against Dripping Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday down 581 places (742 vs. 161). Meanwhile, Del Valle (ranked 778th) will meet Bowie (ranked 23rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
