Softball Recap: Dunlap Beats Limestone for Their Sixth Straight Win

Dunlap waltzed into their game on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Limestone Rockets a 4-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Not much got past Kaitlyn Atkinson, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Limestone off the board. Atkinson has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sutton Centoni, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mara Hindenburg, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Dunlap's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Limestone, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dunlap will venture away from home to challenge Lincoln at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles are facing the Railsplitters at the right time seeing as the Railsplitters are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Limestone, they will face off against Canton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
