Baseball Recap: Struthers Takes a Loss

Struthers couldn't beat Ursuline on Thursday even though they stacked six runs on them in the sixth inning. The Wildcats fell just short of the Fighting Irish by a score of 9-8. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Fighting Irish: they've now lost five in a row.

Eddie Bradley and JR Hovanec did some serious damage despite the final result: Bradley went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Hovanec went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Drew Chizmar, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Struthers' loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Ursuline, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Looking ahead, Struthers will be playing in front of their home fans against Ravenna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ursuline, they will head out to challenge Marlington at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
