Baseball Recap: Countryside Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Palm Harbor University, Countryside was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Clearwater Tornadoes. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Tornadoes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Kaden Webb tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brady Olson, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Chase Hildreth was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Countryside now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Clearwater, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 1-1-1.

Coming up, Countryside will head out on the road to face off against Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clearwater, they will challenge Lakewood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
