The Brenham Cubs will take on the University Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Brenham's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Last Friday, everything went Brenham's way against Ellison as Brenham made off with a 50-28 victory. The Cubs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by 21 points or more this season.

Brenham got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cartelle Brown out in front who picked up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 34 yards. Those 34 rushing yards gave Brown a new career-high. Jordan Harvey was another key passer, throwing for 145 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Brenham was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 375 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University). They breezed by Waco to the tune of 50-3 on Friday. With that victory, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 27.8 points per game.

University can attribute much of their success to Darrius Thomas, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and Keandre Brooks, who picked up 83 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Laquan Hughes Jr. made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

University wouldn't let Waco keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. University can thank Leroy Thomas and Zechariah Ruiz for forcing both of them. Ruiz has been hot , having also posted six or more total tackles the last seven times he's played. Armani Franklin was another major factor on D, making 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Brenham's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for University, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Friday's matchup might be decided in the on the ground. Brenham has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 276.7 rushing yards per game.
