Soccer Game Preview: Roaring Fork vs. Basalt

The Roaring Fork Rams are taking a road trip to face off against the Basalt Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Roaring Fork will head out to face Basalt after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. The Rams came up short against Delta, falling 5-2. While losing is never fun, Roaring Fork can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Delta are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Basalt didn't have quite enough to beat Coal Ridge on Tuesday and fell 2-1.

Basalt has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-5-2 record this season. As for Roaring Fork, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 3-2-3.

Roaring Fork took their win against Basalt in their previous matchup last Tuesday by a conclusive 4-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
