Baseball Recap: Fort Calhoun Comes Up Short

Fort Calhoun lost against Gross Catholic back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pioneers fell 8-4 to the Cougars. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kenny Wellwood made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Fort Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Gross Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Fort Calhoun has already played their next match, an 8-2 win against Guardian Angels Central Catholic/West Point Beemer on the 14th. As for Gross Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-2 victory against Douglas County West on the 14th.
