Basketball Recap: San Clemente Comes Up Short

San Clemente and Crean Lutheran squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but San Clemente had to settle for second. They fell 68-56 to the Crean Lutheran Saints.

Despite the loss, San Clemente still got an impressive performance from Porter Hansen, who posted 23 points. The match was Hansen's fourth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Desi Gutierrez, who scored nine points.

Even though they lost, San Clemente smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

San Clemente's loss dropped their record down to 23-6. As for Crean Lutheran, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season.

San Clemente does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Crean Lutheran, they will challenge Brentwood School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brentwood School has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
