Football Recap: Carterville Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Carterville and Sacred Heart-Griffin squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Carterville had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Cyclones, falling 45-15. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Lions, who until this contest were averaging 14.18 points allowed.

Andrew Johnson threw for 124 yards on 11 of 17 attempts. Gavin Johnson was his top target, picking up 88 receiving yards.

Thomas Southern was nothing short of spectacular for Sacred Heart-Griffin: he rushed for 84 yards and one score on only five carries.

Having lost for the first time this season, Carterville fell to 10-1. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

As of now, neither Carterville nor the Cyclones have any future games scheduled.
