Basketball Game Preview: Culver Academies Eagles vs. Illiana Christian Vikings

The Culver Academies Eagles will face off against the Illiana Christian Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Culver Academies had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 25-point drubbing they dealt Glenn on Saturday. Culver Academies put the hurt on Glenn with a sharp 64-39 win. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Falcons are ranked 429th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Illiana Christian). They were the clear victor by an 80-57 margin over Lake Station Edison on Friday.

Illiana Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points over those games. As for Culver Academies, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
