Preview: Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs vs. Heritage Patriots
Winder-Barrow is 3-0 against Heritage since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs will head out on the road to face off against the Heritage Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Winder-Barrow fell victim to Flowery Branch's stalwart defense two weeks ago and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 48-0 defeat at the hands of the Falcons. While losing is never fun, Winder-Barrow can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Flowery Branch is ranked 91st).
Meanwhile, Heritage's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Clarke Central 42-0. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Winder-Barrow has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Heritage, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-5.
Everything came up roses for Winder-Barrow against Heritage in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 51-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Winder-Barrow since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
