Basketball Recap: Canterbury Comes Up Short

Canterbury lost against St. Petersburg Catholic back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Canterbury Crusaders lost to the St. Petersburg Catholic Barons on the road by a 46-30 margin. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Petersburg Catholic was led to victory by Naomi Thompson and Kinsley Spoor. Thompson dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Spoor posted seven points along with 22 rebounds and five blocks. Spoor is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Claire Levoir was another key player, putting up six points and seven rebounds.

Canterbury now has a losing record at 1-2. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Canterbury wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-55 victory against Lakeside Christian on the 12th. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-26 win against Patel on the 12th.
